Jess is on the cover of  UK’s Tatler Magazine for September 2014.

She told the magazine she was “desperate” to get into theatre, but was finally comfortable in her own skin. She said: “When I was growing up, I always felt quite odd and offbeat. I never really slotted in.

“And it’s as you get older that you realise that the things that make you strange are the things that make you who you are. And that’s a lovely place to get to.”

Jess Brown Findlay can be seen alongside Max Irons, a member of the infamous Riot Club – inspired by Oxford’s real-life Bullingdon Club which counts Prime Minister David Cameron and Mayor of London Boris Johnson among its past members.

Irons stars in The Riot Club – a new film based on Laura Wade’s award-winning stage play Posh – which has released its first full trailer also featuring Douglas Booth (Noah), Freddie Fox (Parade’s End) and The Hunger Games’ Sam Claflin, as well as Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown-Findlay, Holliday Grainger (Great Expectations) and Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer.

Directed by Lone Scherfig (An Eductation) and set at Oxford University (“where rich kids first taste power”), the film charts the course of one riotous evening gone bad for this crop of young, spoilt-rotten students.

The Riot Club will hit Cinemas on September 19th 2014.

Jessica Brown-Findlay wears open-toed sandals while heading out of MediaCityUk after her appearance on BBC Breakfast in London, England on Thursday afternoon (April 17). The 24-year-old actress chatted up her new BBC mini-series, Jamaica Inn.

“The gothic side of Jamaica Inn excited me. I’ve always loved things like ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Jane Eyre’ where you see the darkness of how people react in really forbidding landscapes,” she recently shared with Telegraph.

Jessica added, “There is an incestuousness to the story. Joss wants to protect her deep down, but he’s also a sexual threat. Mary has to show him she’s no pushover and he sort of respects that. Ultimately she holds up a mirror to him, makes him see who he really is….I wasn’t looking for anything fluffy. So often you read a script and the women are just sitting there reading a book or doing a tapestry. But these women go out and do something. There is a fearlessness to them.”

Mary arrives at the isolated Jamaica Inn to discover her Aunt is a shell of the carefree woman she remembers from her childhood, and instead finds a drudge who is firmly under the spell of her domineering husband Joss.

ON a rainy day in East London we caught up with Jessica Brown Findlay on her shoot with photographer Boo George. In keeping with the dramatic weather, Jessica was clothed in a series of dramatic dresses, from Oscar de la Renta to Vivienne Westwood, that anyone with less arresting features and glowing skin would struggle to pull off.

Watch the English beauty of Downton Abbey fame here as she welcomes us to her first British Vogue shoot. You can watch the video here.
