The star said that she was instantly taken by Mosse’s tale. “It’s a gripping story, sometimes violent and dark, and instead of a man leading this journey, there are two women,” she comments to the Daily Express.

“They carry that story and the weight of the emotion. As a female artist, you don’t come across a lot of powerful roles, and so when I did, I had to grab it with two hands,” continues Jessica, who as a youngster trained with the National Youth Ballet before being cast in Downtown, which had numerous nominations at the 70th Golden Globes.

Of course Jessica is no stranger to a meaty drama, and her character will be facing many trials and tribulations. However the young actress claims that the traumas her character has to endure were part of the appeal. Jessica’s character Alaïs has to go through torturous scenarios in her search for the Holy Grail. Along the way, she suffers many losses, as well as discovering that her husband, Guilhem (Emun Elliot, The Paradise), has been cheating on her with her sister, Oriane (Katie McGrath, Merlin).

The actress’s star power in Hollywood is due to maximize as she is now making the movie Winter’s Tale with Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe, Will Smith and Jennifer Connelly.
